It's big chunks of smoky and well-seasoned pork, over a bed of creamy sweet corn grits, really delicious fresh chimichurri (almost as good as mine :-) with eggs over and fire-grilled tortillas, nice. I especially enjoyed my brunch selection this weekend, the Carnita Breakfast. Like the Island Gulf shrimp, mahi sandwich, shrimp & grits, crab toast, and coconut shrimp. They have a pleasantly eclectic number of tasty treats like the Cuban, fresh salads like avocado tomato, jerk shrimp, tuna poke bowl, tacos, steaks, burgers, ribs, and more with some local faves too. It's almost always a great start when you find a place where their ingredients are sourced fresh from the Gulf Coast and that's what they do here and it shows. The second floor, also with an open-air deck, has great views of the Gulf, a private bar, and an indoor lounge. The downstairs dining, indoors or on the deck by the bay, is comfortable, clean, and inviting. The food, service, and view at Playa at Sportsman Marina are quite nice. I was very unimpressed and very disappointed by food. There was no crab and I informed the waiter that there wasn't any in my Pasta and he told me that it's "a creamy crab source that is why I didn't see crab meat. Gulf Shrimp, Crab Salad, Fresh Basil, Fettuccine, Creamy Alfredo( menu description) While mines was bland and I had to asked that my food be heated because of the cool temperature of the food. When my order was brought out my food ( Seaford Pasta) was lukewarm while me dates food was smoking hot 🔥 and very good. When I told him what I wanted to ordered he started over explaining what I was ordering like I'm slow and didn't now what I was ordering or couldn't read. Which is very unsanitary especially with everything going on. When he went over the menu and touch it the food was transferred from his hand to the menu. The reason I'm giving this low review is as follows when sat down the waiter ( Dewey) fill our water glass with nasty hand( food was on his hand). We were treated with a key lime pie on the house for my birthday and it was subLIME. Kiddos had the grilled cheese and cheeseburger and they were happy. Hubby had the ribeye which he enjoyed very much. The shrimp was a bit fishy but still enjoyable. Just the right amount of crispy and buttery. I had the bayou grouper which was so stinking good. Our house salads were great but slightly too heavy on the dressing. We started with some crab cakes for our appetizer which was good but I feel like the ones at Cosmo’s tasted better. Started with a virgin piña colada myself and hubby had the old fashion - both were beyond excellent!! Kiddos basically stole my drink so I had to order a second one. We had a great view of the boats on the dock which the young ones loved. We made reservations 48hrs in advance and were seated right away. Kids even spotted the black cat, Junior mint. Kids enjoyed their cheeseburger and fries. The Parmesan risotto it paired with was good. My bacon wrapped chicken wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was still good - just slightly overcooked and hence dry. The crab meat was literally stuffed into the crabs - other establishments tend to cheap out on the crab meat with crab cakes but this place didn’t disappoint. The warmed bread and butter are garlic heavy which we loved though others might not.

We started with the crab cakes and bread for our appetizers. Even if our food sucked (which it didn’t!), we’d still leave a positive review. She was pleasant, professional, kind, knowledgeable about the menu, honest, and effortless friendly. The patio is completely covered which was perfect on a rainy day like today! It was big enough yo social distance but small enough to still feel intimate. There was no wait to sit outside and they had a good size outdoor patio.

Our entire dining experience was wonderful from start to finish.
